Hi-Sound Stereo

400,00 500,00

Stereo parabolic microphone equipped with very low noise and high sensitive sensors.
Ideal for generic applications in which the sterephonoic effect gives the spatial location for every sound.
You need an external audio recorder and headphones.

SKU: HS-Stereo Category:

Description

This parabolic microphone can capture sounds with a stereo separation, the signal is routed in a single stereo mini Jack 3.5 mm connector or stereo XLR.

The stereo effect is given by the channels separation obtained by placing a separator disc (baffle) between two pairs of microphones, positioned to the left and right channels with two capsules for each channel. The dish is composed by two circuits with top and bottom shield; the same shield is tightly connected to ground of the four capsules so to minimize the immunity to external interferences.

A single AOM-5024L gives the same performance of two EM172. The presence of a single capsule instead of two for each channel gives a better focusing in the center of the parabola. Moreover the cost for this sensor is less than EM172.

The EM172 saturate at higher SPL so loud sound can be easily recorded with this sensor.

Compared to traditional PZM the greatest improvement in HiSound stereo is done placing the capsule on the same plane with the baffle and not in opposite direction. This configuration can add additional signal gain of +6 dB without having any influence on the high-frequency response.

Hi-sound includes all the components: handle microphone and disc, you only need a compatible recorder.

Specifications
Outer diameter 53 cm

Focus depth 12.5 mm
Weight for 1 mm* 270 g
Total weight for 1 mm* 755 g
Material PETG

Audio frequency range (100Hz – 20KHz)

There are 3 option for sensors:

- 2 x AOM-5024 one for each channel
- 4 x AOM-5024 two for each channel
- 4 x EM172 two for each channel

The 4 x AOM-5024 combination is the ideal solution for very high sensitivity applications such as night migration bird monitoring but loud sound can easily saturate the signal bringing distortion.

All the sensors are tested and matched with a tolerance of ±0,25dB

Self noise only 14dB

Connector: mini jack 3.5 mm golden plated or standard dual (stereo) XLR

PIP plug in power supply required for jack connector or phantom supply for the XLR.
